Fascinating

There were at least two major sporting events in the North West of England today. One was the Grand National at Aintree. These ladies were amongst thousands of well-dressed people on their way to the great horse racing event. The other was Wigan Athletic v Coventry City in Football League Division One. There were not many well-dressed people going to the latter and none, that I could see, wore fascinators.

Several things made the day enjoyable. Chris and I met IWCharters and NLN at the Raven in Wigan. The beer and the Steak & Stilton Pies were delicious. Also, I am £500 up because I did not bet that (or any other) amount on the National. But please don't ask about the football.
