The World's Oldest Railway

..... apparently is Tanfield (www.tanfield-railway.co.uk ) dating back to 1725 and I had no idea! It is only 6 miles from where I was brought up. Our family did not have a car so there are many local areas of interest that I am discovering late in the day as I moved away from Chester-le-Street at the age of 18, a long time ago!
