Brockholes
We got going a little earlier this morning, as the forecast wasn't so good for this aft. Spent a lovely morning at Brockholes - a nature reserve just off the M6 near Preston, which I have blipped before on a visit to cycle the Guild Wheel ( in Feb 2015 ).
The buzz from the motorway gradually fades into the background, and as we walked round the pools we saw/heard lapwing and curlews as well as the usual swans, geese and lbjs. Meanwhile the Sandmartins are just arriving and taking up residence in their "bank" of luxury apartments.
A lovely walk in the sun, and splendid coffee & cake sitting outside at the floating centre. Also saw our first bluebells in the woods - what's not to like ( see extras )?
