Grassmere salt pans

It was a very early start, with the taxi arriving at 6.15 to take us to the station for the beautiful journey north to Picton, and from there on the InterIslander ferry to Wellington for the second part of our NZ adventure.

The railway followed the road up the coast. We spotted our freedom camp north of Kaikoura and also our Wither Hills walk. It was a beautiful sunny day - we did tend to get those for a long travelling day!

I think the extra is our first camping spot - it's too small to tell till I publish.
