What's in a name?
Spain is the centre of distribution of the genus Narcissus. There are many and varied types and a huge range of variation within these. While the classical view names a limited number of variable species, the Spanish botanists prefer to name many of the variants as separate species. Several years ago a kind Spanish friend sent me seed of a few of these which are now reaching flowering size. So today I offer you Narcissus varduliensis a variation on the theme of Narcissus pseudonarcissus, the trumpet daffodil.
