Cheers everybody
Cheers!
I had a farewell meal out tonight with some of my colleagues from work.
I've left my business support role, a position I held for 16 years. It's a role I have enjoyed, it's a role I felt vital to the service we offered. It's a role which appears now deemed not necessary and It's a role I have developed over the 16 years.
I'm not saying that it is me that is vital I am saying the role is vital, if I don't do it someone else should. I have met lots of lovely people in this role, I have spoken on the phone to lots of different people (British gas call centres abroad excluded), Ihave built up relationships with parents, children, other proessionals and agencies, IT support! and of course a wonderful staff team, an Outstanding staff team.
The night was a good one and people came who I had not seen for a while. I got beautiful charms for my pandora bracelet which the team bought for my big birthday so it was apt to get some more and also gifts off people individually too. A colleague wrote a poem which was very good, a very funny, and an accurate reflection of my years at work. So I thank you all.
The nights out we have are not complete unless we have our obligutary (can't spell) shots! These have become a little tradition amongst a few of us so the little mini guinesses in the photo above are delicious. The tequila's are also part of our outing which must take place at some point during the evening, which they did I just can't remember where or when, not quite as tasty as the mini guinesses but they certainly hit a spot!
So the evening over, a very pleasant evening, it was nice to get together and have a relaxed night its a shame someone has to leave before we have these get togethers. Some were missing due to other commitments and some had unforeseen circumstances.
I thank you all who helped celebrate and whilst I am sad and would have liked the get together to be for a different reason, I am also excited about what my future may hold.
Cheers everybody.
