Cascades

We were picked up by bus to take us to Milford Sound for our overnight boat trip. We were soaked just getting aboard the bus. The good thing about the rain was that it caused wonderful short-lived cascades of water to pour off the vertical cliffs. The driver said within 20 minutes of stopping raining the cascades would be a trickle.

Joining a bus trip meant a very different clientele from the walking group. It's not really our thing but it was a convenient way to get an overnight on the boat. We'd signed up to kayak, but it was cancelled as the sound was too rough.

We spent the night on the boat, after a bit of a sail down the sound to see more spectacular water.
