Sleeping Soundly

I went back to visit the owls today.  My SiL got a picture of two owlets in the nest yesterday but they weren't visible when I was there and I didn't see mom in there either but I don't think she would leave her little ones so maybe she was just out of sight.  I assume that the one in my blip is the male because he was a few trees away from the nest and sound asleep.

In other news, the resident female osprey finally returned to the nest today.  The male brought her a fish right away and after her meal they started tidying up the nest together.  Even if she couldn't be identified from pictures, there is no doubt she is his lifetime mate from their behavior.  Here's a link to the live camera if you want to look in on the happy couple.  :-))
