Nine Hours Edinburgh-Dover via A68

We left at 6.20 am and got on the A68 to Jedburgh and Darlington. A fantastic drive through murk and low fog over traffic free roads through The Borders, the Cheviots and the northern Pennines. Lots of blind summits on the arrow straight old Roman road (presumably). The Borders looking very enticing.

Nine hours to Dover was pretty good, the temperature rising to a positively warm 17 degrees on the last stretch.

Storm Katie had wreaked a little damage on our neighbour's tree so that was good news. Sprouting broccoli in the garden and chicken in the oven. Our long travel over and a bit cream crackered really.

Photos from the Cheviots and the Scotland/England border at Carter Bar, where we had a phone missing panic. It later turned up.
