The east coast
It was quite hard to get up early this morning, after our very busy Easter weekend..... but we made it...... off for the club walk to East Lothian. The day had a lot of promise, with forecasts of sunshine but perhaps the odd heavy shower.
We started our 7.5 mile walk at Aberlady, over the long wooden bridge, and walked along to Gullane Point, from where there are great views of the coast and the sandy bays ahead of us. We could see the Forth Bridge from here too in the distance, and the island of Fidra with its lighthouse and castle.
Continued along the beach at this point, and I collected some lovely sea glass. It is often used for jewellery, as it is very pretty.
We had lunch sitting around an old ruined chapel high above Gullane Bay, and then walked along the coast to Longkelly Rocks and then inland to our waiting coach.
It was a fab day and apart from one small shower we walked without jackets. Just as we reached the coach, however, we had some hailstones...... we were lucky we missed it!!!!
Have put some extras on.
