A Busy Day ...... Photographically
I picked up one of the usual suspects this morning and we headed off to Doune to photograph the castle.
It is one of those places that doesn't really give you many angles to shoot from unfortunately. The non existent light didn't help either.
So after an hour or so we went for a wee wander and came across a super wee café (Willows Dell) - only been open a month but it deserves to succeed ..... lovely, quirky décor and super food, cakes and staff. We may also have found an outlet for our friends card business.
When we came out the light had improved (no improvement in the angles though and the tourist coaches had descended).
So it was time to move on.
At the top of the hill we stopped at the Sir David Sterling memorial. He was the founder of the SAS and his memorial has a great view towards the still snowcapped mountains.
It was then over to The Kingdom Of Fife and Balgonie Castle - another one trip pony when it comes to suitable photographic angles. But it going to be the host for a fair of some description where our friend has been invited to show her artwork and cards and that is why we were there .... to get a couple of stock shots for the basis of her artwork.
I was more impressed with the tree in the grounds and the open outhouse door and what was behind it. Is it a wall, or a stone store?
Having finished there we headed over to see what was going on with the sea at the St Monans' harbour zig-zag breakwater.
Obviously nothing!
Before coming off the harbour wall I noticed the connection between the bells.
I also liked the way the harbour, boats and houses were piled one on top of the other
Lunchtime - and we partook of the delicious food at The Smokehouse.
They smoke their own stuff (salmon, garlic, brie ........ you know the kind of thing) and it is wonderful.
On the way home we stopped at Abercorn Kirk with its ancient stones and weird windows.
As I said .......... a busy day photographically
