Lean to

Well, that's our garden pergola done for. Storm Katie has seen to that and provided us with a lean to!
Mind you, we have had it for many years and long gone are the days when we would sit there in the fading sun on a summer evening, perhaps with a glass of wine. The ravages of time had already begun to attack the timber crossbeams and there was a hint that the uprights were no longer strictly upright - at least not at 90 degrees.
But it has served us well and was a peaceful little oasis in our garden.
And then came Storm Katie which hit us yesterday and overnight. Even ten miles or more inland, it was a rough night and evil if you had to be out in it.
And rough on our pergola which has been left with a definite lean, and I now fear is sadly beyond the state of repair
Reported gusts of wind of 105 mph or more have seen to that.
Sad. We have happy romantic memories of that little feature in our garden!
