Maeve the Deerhound and I went through to Arbroath before 9am and had our walk round the harbour. As has been my habit for a long time now I parked on the quayside along from the lifeboat shed. As we walked round the inner harbour to the boatyard it occurred to me that this was the last time Maeve and I would walk around the harbour by ourselves. There are only a few more days in March and Apothecary7 leaves her current job on the last day of the month to give us time to pack and get ready to move West. Maeve and I will have a very different harbour almost on our doorstep to explore next month.

There were two big boats on the boatyard slipway today but no boatyard workers to be seen. No fishermen on the outer harbour wall. It was almost low tide and the sea level in the outer harbour was almost as low as last Saturday. All but two of the boats were still afloat. The day trip boats were all berthed in the outer harbour but none of them looked to be getting ready to go to sea.

The fishing boats that were on the slipway until recently are still tied up in a corner of the inner harbour. Work continues on Marigold with her wheelhouse looking better than it has for a while. The whole metal top section from the bow has been removed from the other boat and is lying on the quayside.

The lock gate to the inner harbour was closed so we could walk round in a loop to get back to the car. I could have done with my gloves.

Maeve and I went for a walk after lunch. Mary Chapin Carpenter on the Nano (Come On Come On). Just a two mile loop down to the shore road and round to the main road and back home. There had been a shower before we went out and in the last half mile the rain came back on but we didn't really get wet.
