Another Languedoc year...

DameJane

I joined friends H&Y for lunch in Faugères today at the oddly named Damejane. As usual it was utterly delicious and today's menu was roti de veau with pommes de terre Lyonnaise then a light and fresh pineapple and strawberry concoction with a mango and passion fruit jus. With a glass of wine and coffee it was less than twenty euros .

Here you see chef Guillaume who was cooking, serving and clearing today as his children are off school for the Easter break so his wife, who normally deals with front of house, was needed at home.

The restaurant, which sits in a vaulted cellar directly in off the street, is a heady mix of wine bar, grocery, lunch restaurant and - wait for it - post office. I kid you not.
