Wicker Man

A very busy day in the office, and also a very wet one, so I didn't make it out for my usual lunchtime walk in Derby.

Instead between changing trains on my way home I paid a quick visit to Birmingham's Victoria Square. The city council's parks team has created ten floral displays featuring wicker figures to celebrate the 2012 Olympics and Paralympics. One of Usain Bolt has captured the headlines, but I really like this one in front of the Town Hall of a gymnast on a pommel horse.
