Abstract Easter

A bowl of jelly beans for Abstract Thursday with Youoregon1. Posting this a day late because when I got home last night, there was no way my eyes could focus on photos or my brain either for that matter.  Jon and I were invited to a forum that included mostly law enforcement and some politicians on the opioid crisis in New Hampshire.

I guess it's true that we have the largest problem in the US here (though I know it's reached epidemic proportions everywhere).  It's nice to see law enforcement reaching the conclusion that they can't arrest their way out of this - that if we are going to help we need to offer treatment either in the public sector or in the prisons.  While there are more arrests and more seizures of drugs, the overdose death rate is climbing steadily higher each year.  

This topic seems to take up an inordinate amount of my time, but it is so important to try to effect change and I hope all my Blip friends are not tired of hearing what is happening at my local level.
