Is the Feeder Down There??
If you didn't see yesterday's blip, you should take a look to see how fickle March can be in Colorado. Yesterday was 72 F (22 C) and beautifully sunny, with all traces of last week's snow gone. It started to rain around midnight and changed to snow sometime after. We woke to a blizzard with blowing and drifting snow. By the time it moved out about 3 pm, we had fifteen inches of snow. We lost a couple of branches from our backyard Maple but we were luckier than some of our neighbors who had more damage. Looking out the window now it's hard to believe it's the same day. It's very still and most of the snow has fallen off the trees.
My poor birds were having a hard time seeing the feeder through all the snow. The first extra shows Mrs. Flicker who just landed on a branch and the snow is up to her beak. The second is Pipersdad trying to shake snow off the tree branches. Here you can also see the why the birds were having trouble landing on the feeder. It was cleared off along with the branches. The third is PD shoveling the walk. I made him stop, though, it was just so heavy and I was worried. Thanks to our Mystery Snowplow Man, the sidewalk was done. Then, this afternoon, our son-in-law showed up with his snow shovel and cleared our double driveway. What a sweetie! :-)
It will be interesting to see what tomorrow brings....
