Back end
This is the backend of SS Great Britain above and below the waterline. The ship conceived by Brunel and built in Bristol in 1840s was used on various voyages until the 1930s when it was beached in the Falklands . It was used as a warehouse for sheepskin and kelp until the 1970s. It's battered hulk was then placed on floats and dragged across the Atlantic until it arrived back in its homeport, Bristol, where it was built . The renovation has been gradual and we have revisited over the years and it continues to get better as a tourist attraction . And if you're a fan of Brunel then this, and various monuments around Bristol, is the place for you!
