Queen Charlotte Drive

We drove the scenic route to Nelson where we had a coffee and cake before heading on to Old McDonalds Farm, where we could camp with facilities, and then leave our van for $10 a night while we were on our Abel Tasman trip.

We met up with our friend Ailie who was staying at a place nearby, handy for us all to get the Aquataxi in the morning. We had a great catch up as she has been in NZ since before Christmas - she has a house here too, as she has two daughters, one in NZ and one in Newcastle, and 2 grandsons exactly the same age.
