Dear Football:  Please be kind to my little boy.  

As I mourn the loss of my soccer player, I'm also proud of my little man for breaking the mold and choosing to try a sport he is truly passionate about.  This Summer and Fall will bring a lot of "firsts" for us with this game and my hope is that we will all grow to love it even more.  My hesitancy is quickly turning into excitement as I see how much joy this brings him and how can you not love that?!

Just . . . be careful, my baby.  Ok, I'm done.  ;)
