"Nature is swag"
A direct quote from a year 7 pupil. We were up in Thaton, near the Burmese border for our annual Biology field trip. They set pit traps, did a Thai cooking class and then we headed to the river to catch macro invertebrates. They used the creatures caught to compare the biodiversity in an area relatively untouched by man and then an area adjacent to a lot of farming.
In the evening was the confidence course, an exercise in nerve getting over the swampy water (complete with frogs). See the extra photos for me doing pretty well then falling in on the monkey bars, must work on those biceps..
The most amazing bit of the day was seeing them all cheering each other on and bonding. Every single one of them attempted the crossing, which was brilliant to see. A happy teacher day.
