Caledonian Canal

Glad to finally be off work for a week. Headed west today and our first stop - Fort Augustus, staying at one of our fave hotels - the Lovat.

We managed to get out for a walk in between the rain. This shot was taken at the Caledonian Canal, quite fascinating to watch how it works. Marvellous fate of engineering by Thomas Telford who opened up the Highlands.

Off to Skye tomorrow!!
