The Ides of March
2060 years ago today, England's last Emperor was killed, no not by the barbarian Scots but by his own people back home. Last Sunday one of Mrs Merkel's Conservative Party team stood at the state elections to try and win the election from the ruling Labour Party. However in her campaign she took a far right position against Mrs Merkels fugitive policy hoping to get the votes of those moving to the new far right (sort of UKIP type) party. The treachery backfired . voters may have agreed with the idea behind the treachery but they don't like traitors. I have heard of many of the "protest" voters moving to the far right were shocked at the success of the party - they don't agree with 90% of the policies, even agree with Merkels underlying thoughts but fed up with not being informed or fears seemingly taken seriously. A trend we can see everywhere from the USA to UK.
Luckily the elections last Sunday were not in themselves significant in that the ruling parties in each of the three states has remained the same, just there are now different coalitions needed to keep the far right out. Hitler started out as a joke as did Trump
Weather continues to be a joke but looking back in Blip history, quite normal. 15 day forecast suggests it isn't going to change much, the best to come later this week.
Started the dog walk in cold but dry conditions. Got back to the car with 2cm of snow which by afternoon had got to a good 5cm. Didn't stay on hard surfaces, just grass so simply an annoyance in the garden and for farmers. The Bliped farmer seemed not only to be hauling straw, probably for calves bedding but also had done the kindergarden pick up run with two children on board - Easter hols start next week. They will probably need to wax their sledges and skis.
Finally the English Narcissus Index has fallen again. Now a bunch of best West Country daffs are 69 cents down from 79 cents two weeks ago and 99 cents on 5th Feb. See extra photo.
