Train to Hogwarts *cough* Budapest

Worst day of the whole trip we're afraid.

After getting only a few hours sleep we had to say goodbye to the Belgians and set off on our mammoth train journey. Again, we left it to the last minute so as soon as we boarded the train it started to move... we will never learn! Thankfully though we managed to get our very own train cabin (see picture) much to Melody's excitement, who though she was off to Hogwarts BUT alas, 9 hours later we arrived in Budapest!!

We finally go to our hostel, which we were hoping would be paradise after the past 24hrs...we got lucky! We had a stunning apartment to share with a lovely bunch of Norwegian girls, a pair of lovely English girls and shortly but sweetly a pair of Australian girls too - yes we can make friends with girls...shocking!

After dropping off our bags we set off to Szimpla bar for one quiet drink. This bar was ridiculously awesome - like something out of a film set as its in the old Jewish Quarter where the Hungarians rather fabulously have made bars out of old warehouses and abandoned houses...amazing! (Check it out if you are ever in Budapest!) Now, if you know Dwelody, or have read the previous blogs, a 'quiet drink' cannot be done! Especially as we found out that in this bar it cost us 90p for a glass of wine! 90p!!!!

After a pleasant conversation with an old school Australian traveller - Nathan, Melody thought it would be a great idea to have a shisha as Dwyer has never tried before. This, with the alcohol, made us feel very sleepy...walking home was a mission! Apparantly Dwyer's ankles felt funny and all Melody could say was, 'My knees are heavy!'....spesh.

We finally made it home and instantly collapsed into a well needed sleep ready for some Budapest funsies in the morning.
