We are in Menton on the Mediterranean for a week. We left home yesterday late afternoon, after I got back from Book Club, and drove as far as Valence, where we stopped overnight in a hotel, before continuing our journey this morning, arriving in Menton around lunchtime. We are staying in a friend's flat for the week, very centrally located, just around the corner from the front. After unloading the car, we went out to get some lunch, in the sunshine overlooking the beautiful turquoise water. Then we walked along the front to the old harbour and up into the old town - a maze of picturesque narrow alley ways.
