Les moules
Looking forward to another helping of these this coming weekend. Okay, I know it’s still a few days away, but I had to check out the menu today to make sure they were still on.
At one time I thought I might eventually have my fill of moules in whichever form they came. Thankfully, so far they are still high on my list of more...ish favourites.
So far, usually if they are on the menu, then I will not resist them, no matter what other mouth-watering offerings might also catch my eye.
Truth is I probably sought out the restaurant or bar because I had heard or knew from experience that mussels would be there.
One friendly pub restaurant I used to frequent would ring me early in the day if fresh mussels were to be on the menu. God bless them, I was always ready to respond!
So this weekend, my wife says she will treat me to one of my favourite dishes again.
The plans are laid; I have checked the menu midweek, and the taste buds can already savour them. With a crusty baguette, of course to soak up the wine, garlic and onion sauce they will be cooked in.
Can’t wait.
