Musical interlude

If you have an ear for music and fancy playing a piano in public  . . .  then here is just the opportunity.
This baby grand is to be found in the West Quay shopping mall in Southampton, but I have seen them in other shopping malls. And the invitation from the maker, Yamaha is the same — come and play me.
It’s certainly a diversion from the usual style of entertainment to be found in shopping centres. In one I encountered a Noddy train which would take you, or your youngsters on a journey round the mall. `and it was undoubtedly popular.
But the idea of music you create yourself is an entirely fresh dimension, and though as I passed through the mall today there appeared to be no takers, on other occasions I’ve seen it creating quite a stir and drawing a crowd of onlookers while a lone pianist made the most of the opportunity.

Full marks for the initiative.
