Contrasts

Today we've enjoyed glorious weather and I'm just so thankful for being able to live here. (This is a view from our roof, by the way.) But then I keep needing to pinch myself- how can this town be so beautiful and peaceful when not far away at all is a city for whom life under the black flag is unbearable. It doesn't seem real. I was with a refugee friend today whose sister is stuck in that city and she told me a story about what the evil men there did to 2 young boys. I can't repeat it, I can hardly believe it. They're expecting its liberation to begin soon. We need to pray that not too much more blood will be shed and it will be freed at last.
