A Loon...in the Afternoon

I was SO surprised when I thought I saw a loon. I wasn't in New Hampshire. I wasn't in Maine. I wasn't even in Michigan. I AM IN FLORIDA!!

So, thanks to Google, I found out that...just like me...loons come south for the winter. Who knew?

It was tough to get a picture. They don't stay topside for very long, because they are constantly diving for fish.

Exciting to see a northern bird.
