Kitchen garden or not, we always grow tomato plants for a couple of our friends and family, and they need to be sown by March 1. So that's what we did today. Mum has a tomato gene bank in the freezer, the seeds go in fresh humid soil and that's it. Mum also pollinated a small peach tree with a tiny paintbrush, missing her glorious apricot tree that is no longer around. Maybe we can get another one?
