Please Send Rain. And Cool!
Today was our last day of camping. We had to pack up and be off our site by 11 am.
In all truthfulness, I was exhausted, not from activity, but from the stress of the heat!
The last day of the Sabres Development Camp was yesterday. The final day was a scrimmage of the young players at the First Niagara Center, home of the Sabres. When we arrived in downtown Buffalo, the thermometer was reading a hefty 90 degrees, Fahrenheit. Hot. Too hot!
Entering the building was pure joy! With the air quite chilly, it was such a relief from the blistering heat!
The scrimmage lasted until almost 8:30 and as we left the building, I could not believe the sun in the sky. It was a bright orangy-yellow orb, glowing, and looking almost as though it was on fire.
When I awakened this morning and took Murphy outside, I nearly screamed as the blazing sun had already risen in the eastern sky, looking as though a continuation of the previous evening. The air was hot and heavy and miserable.
This photo was taken shortly after I nearly dragged Murphy inside so I could photograph the sun!
Thankfully, the heat didn't impede our exodus from the campground and as we headed homeward, we actually did run into a little rain. I just seriously hope and pray this heat will break soon! We need rain so badly......
