Before the Surge

After Murphy and I took a little walk, I went back out once more by myself to take a few photos.

As I walked along, I couldn't help but feel so overwhelmed by all the beauty around me....The birdsong was sweet and everywhere. The morning was cool and bright and everything just felt so "new".

One of the reasons that I love camping so much is because although there are a lot people around on the weekends, during the week, it is often quiet and very peaceful. This lends a great deal of time to just wandering about and exploring the surroundings which offer a spcetrum of wildlife and adventures.

The lake was shimmering and smooth as glass as I looked out on it. A mama duck and her four ducklings set smoothly into the water as I approached....I had not even seen them until they were on the water!

I took a few photos of the area, but liked this one of the beach area. It was so calm and serene! I knew that within a few hours, it would be bustling with kids and adults trying to beat the scorching heat we have been having!
