The Most Southwesterly Farms!
Early start down to Mizen Head Visitor Centre, where they sell our cards, they topped up by 200 cards and have taken some sample postcards to browse, so all good news. The lighthouse here is the most southwesterly in Ireland and the whole area feels the full force of the Atlantic gales. Farming here before the days of grants and subsidies, must have been tough indeed, today there are still many small functioning farmsteads scattered throughout this windswept landscape. I loved this old building with it's backdrop of the ocean, shame about the wire but it's as it is!
Not such good news on the car, the timing belt has gone, which is very serious, so I'll know how much damage has been done to the engine in the next few days!
