Up on the top . . .

Ollie and I went and took Scratch for a good long walk right up over the top of the hill above J's house.  Terrific views over to the hills of Hoy, still with a dusting of snow on them.

The last time I was over walking Scratch, I came across a dead shag on the beach, with a ring on its leg.  Today I found out that it had been ringed in the Farne Islands in July 2014 and had been spotted in Aberdeen and Wick last year.  I hope my reporting it dead in Orkney was of use to someone's records.  There was also a dead puffin on the same beach, but with bare legs!
