Tahkokuru
We have been coming here more than 10 years and I don't think I have ever seen so much snow on the ground or on the trees. Today was a fantastic cold sunny day -26C at breakfast but warming up to about -17 when we set out. It gets warmer as you get higher up and into the sun because of the regular temperature inversion they have here, We skied up to Karhunkota but on the way took in this little spur up to the shelter at Tahkokuru. Quite amazing views and we are so lucky with the weather and the snow conditions. W skied 26Km which is a lot for a first day for us. To make a perfect end to the day after dinner we spotted some weak northern lights on the way back to our cabin.
