Day 3 in Santos ...

This is the charming, colourful, beautiful view from our balcony.  We get to stare at a very large, very noisy factory that seems to be involved in processing some kind of grain.  You can see the train tracks running in front of the factory between it and the ship.  Every hour or so, 24 hours a day, a loud freight train rumbles past, blasting its horn to warn turning traffic of its imminent presence.  Just to the left of this picture is a squalid lean-to type of shed filled with filthy grey vehicles which appear to belong to the Brazilian version of the Coast Guard.  Moored just in front of this shed is an even filthier old catamaran, coated in pigeon poop, with green, stagnant water sloshing around on the deck.  So much scenic wonder.  So MANY days to soak it all in.  No news from the Captain as to any progress in the generator department since yesterday morning, but we're still here, so I assume the news is not good.
