Crumbling
Well, at the risk of sounding awfully repetitive, we have still more problems aboard.
Not only have we had a resurgence of the gastro-intestinal bug, which means that the ship is once more in a "Code Red" (meaning the poor crew has twice as much work to do, constantly spraying disinfectant on every surface imaginable, and a lot of amenities such as salt and pepper on tables, and being able to serve oneself from a buffet, curtailed). Also, we experienced a blackout yesterday afternoon, and were later informed that the ship's backup generator is not functioning. This is bad news, because without it we are not allowed to sail. This means that yet another port of call has been canceled (we were supposed to be visiting Ilha Grande today), and we have to remain at Santos until repairs can be made. To add to the fun, it's raining today.
This is a picture I took yesterday (when it wasn't raining). It accurately sums up how I feel about Santos.
