Hanoi

Hanoi is so lovely- it is a sensory overload! We are staying in the Old Quarter, right on the bank of the red river, surrounded by colourful pristine flowers and shady trees. Hanoi is a crazy mix of old and new- the past and present have all merged together in this city (They even had an Aldo, Johanna). We visited the Hoa Lo/ Hanoi Hilton prison- a museum of prisons during the French colonisation, also used for captured American pilots- very thought provoking and interesting.
