Going down is the easy part!
This is the view down a farm track from Hancow Road. The view across the valley is of the Rosedale Chimney Bank Road and at the top of the horizon there once existed an "Iron ore Roasting" factory of which the only trace is the the row of three kilns top left of the picture.
A small hamlet of houses existed there to house the workforce, it went by the local nickname of Siberia, not merely for the severity of the climate, but during severe winters it could be cut off for months at a time as nothing could get up the very steep hill or across the moor!
