Orchid

In celebration of very special news, my friend gave me a lovely orchid plant last Wednesday. It is flowering beautifully in front of the window overlooking the snow covered garden. The flowers are so pretty and delicate backlit by the late afternoon sun, with the translucent petals revealing the shadow of the window screen that is falling on their backs.
