Blip City

This is the first time I have been to Edinburgh since I joined Blipfoto. It is my favourite British City and I have spent many happy days here in the past. It is easy to see why it was in this City that Joe Tree was inspired to set up a daily photo journal.

After an arrival that challenged our ability to cope with a hostile traffic system, we wandered down the Royal Mile for a first visit to the Scottish Parliament, which I think is terrific. The building cost £414 million, after initial estimates were between £10 million and £40 million. I can't say whether it was "worth" that but it is certainly a building to be proud of.

I then climbed Calton Hill, where this Blip was taken, for some fine views to the Firth of Forth and the ultimate Blipcliche, the skyline of the Old Town and Castle.
