February - fighting negative thoughts

One of those days when you have to be kind to yourself, listen to some good music, look at some good pictures, talk to some nice people :-)

February is never an easy month. So much mud around. I like the colours of this month, though - muted and soft before the shouty yellows of March. Sarah wanted to send me a poem of Douglas Dunn's called "Queen February" but couldn't find it on the internet. While I was looking, I read another of his called "I am a Cameraman". The last verse fits today's bleak February mood:

Life flickers on the frame like beautiful hummingbirds.
That is the film that always comes out blank.
The painting the artist can't get shapes to fit.
The poem that shrugs off every word you try.
The music no one has ever heard.
