Two Balloons....Two Points
Although I saw it before I heard it...it wasn't long before we heard the familiar sound of "S-A-A-W-A-U-S-S-S-H-H! S-A-A-W-A-U-S-S-S-H-H!." 2 hot air balloons were sailing over our house.
It was 7:20 a.m. Where do they find these people who will get up before the crack of dawn? And...pay for the pleasure.
The balloon ride is one thing I've crossed off my bucket list. I went with my Dad quite a few years ago. Thought there would be a feeling of danger. There wasn't. It was a pleasant experience, though it would have to be real special before I'd do it again. Now...sky diving...that was a not-so-cheap thrill, and a story for another time. Nothing quite like stepping out on that wing at 3000 feet, and jumping off. WHOOOO-WHEEE!
I couldn't resist framing the balloon in my basketball net. The full sized pictures...I put on my flickr page...along with some duckling shots, and a wuvey-duvey dove.
The only trouble I had with the balloon ride was having to address the skipper as Captain. Captain of what? His balloon? He even had a jacket and hat on that made him look very navyish. Kind of like Ted Knight in Caddyshack when he launched his mini sailboat. What was I supposed to do? Salute the balloon guy?
Thanks for the vent. I needed that to get back to my old cantankerous self. Been way too nice lately.
