Between fen and mountains

Full flower

This is the first field of daffodils in full flower that I have seen this year. The Vaalserberg ("Mount of Vaals") is a hill with a height of 322.7 metres (1,059 ft) and is the highest point in mainland Netherlands.  People make a special trip to go and see it. I made a special trip to this local hill (or rather undulation) in South Holland which rises to a height slightly above my head and interrupts my view of the distant horizon.  I later discovered that it is not a natural phenomenon and most likely a medieval sea bank.  When I got back to truly flat land on my walk I was able to see five church spires, so clear was the day.
