Dalmeny Street

The publishers were on the phone this morning. With an impending book launch (Cigs - The Shrubhill Tapes Vol. 2) going through the final pre print stages, the publicity department were brainstorming. They want to generate some publicity to latch on to. And they were talking about Lord Lucan and how his elusive behaviour gave rise to regular appearances in the press and wondered if they could do a similar thing with Cigs.

So, the brief was to organise a Cigs hunt and see if we could generate a story that way. Not even necessarily catch Cigs; even chronicling the search would be enough to get the press interested.

After a refreshingly old skool search in Yellow Pages, I came up with a tracker dog service in Leith. I spent my lunchtime around Dalmeny Street  meeting Rex - that's him dragging his handler towards his quarry (Wrecks, more like his owner Pam said...) and he certainly seems to be up to the task.

He managed to track down this pen on bin one from the merest hint of a scent from a discarded spray can I found recently at the Velodrome.

Cigs Ate My Hamster on the front page of the Sun is but a day or two away.
