Courgetti
I'd already prepared a Bolognese sauce ready for this evening, and we had it with our favourite new find: Courgetti.
This pile here is just three courgettes, shredded using a very sharp Julienne peeler. Hey presto - fake spaghetti, which tastes great and is much better for you than the pasta. I love it. It just needs a few seconds in boiling water to soften it up before serving.
You can buy proper "spiralisers" to do this, but they can cost anything up to about £45, and the peeler does the trick just as well. You can also buy courgettes and carrots and other things already "spiralised" but it's much more fun to make your own.
I feel like I've just been on one of those 1980's adverts for kitchen utensils.
