Black Rock, Barns Ness
As Margaret had decided to take the dogs a walk at Barns Ness, I thought I would revisit some of the images I have taken previously at that location but on this occasion use my infra-red camera. As well as providing inky black skies (as it was a clear blue sky) infra red provided a different range of tones for different aspects of the landscape. Sand, instead of appearing quite light toned is much darker, the rocks much lighter apart from the black rock which is the key feature of this image. Any water is also darker as it is reflecting the sky tones. Here is the link if you wish to view my previous monochrome image http://www.blipfolio.com/stujphoto/miscellaneous#black-rock-2 The two scenes are not entirely comparable as the tide was in and much of the rocky foreshore was covered by seawater.
