Tiny Tuesday - A tiny Insect
This is an insect I have never seen before. I was strolling along the beginning of one of the Estuary paths when a slight movement caught my eye. It took me a while to track it down and then I really had to rely on the photograph to show me what it was like.
All of 2.5 - 3 cm long it is very slender. It has eyes like tiny pale green tennis balls, a long snout, spindly legs and long feelers folded back along its back. There are long white stripes either side of the body.
The closest I could find in my insect book was a striped longhorn, although the legs look a bit too sturdy and the snout a bit short.
Perhaps someone out there in Blipland will recognise them as a common insect in their area.
