A Day At A Time.

Too Close For Comfort

The storm has raged all night and this morning we woke to enormous waves battering the shoreline and running almost up to the promenade.

I took my camera and, as the waves abated for a few seconds, rushed down the wet sand to clamber up a tall rock, which moments later was cut off from the beach by a swirling maelstrom of foaming water.

But it afforded a fantastic vantage point from which to shoot the waves as they thrashed about just below me - and on one rather wet occasion, right around me!

After a couple of minutes balancing precariously against the howling wind, I waited for a few seconds of respite from the waves to slip back off the rock and race against the water back up the beach to dry safety.

Only just made it, but with a few good shots in the can and only damp jeans to prove I had been so close to the action.

The things we do for a picture!
