Away with the Birds

A bit of very light drizzle this afternoon so I donned my raincoat for a wander along the beach. I was happily snapping the heaps of seagulls and surf when I noticed this fellow lurking amongst the rocks. I thought he was a Heron at first, although he has his neck tucked in, but my bird book tells me he is a Eastern Reef Egret. I'm not sure what the difference is but they surely must be related to the Herons, although he did seem a bit smaller. I couldn't decide what to blip so I have put my other choice in Blipfolio - I actually like it better but the one I have blipped shows the bird a bit better.
